1   A forma have+object+(-ing) é empregue quando queremos fazer alguém (ou alguma coisa) fazer algo:
John had his students listening attentively.	O João fez os seus alunos prestar atenção.
Mary had me laughing.	A Maria fez-me rir.
Don't worry! He'll have your computer working in no time.	Não te preocupes! Ele põe o teu computador a trabalhar num instante.
2   A forma have+object+(-ing) pode também ser empregue para exprimir experiências pessoais:
It's so nice to have the children playing on the beach again.	É tão bom ter as crianças a brincar na praia novamente.
It's great to have friends visiting us from time to time.	É bom ter amigos a visitar-nos de vez em quando.
