1   As conjunções coordenativas correlativas (correlative coordinators ou correlative coordinating conjunctions) juntam duas palavras, dois sintagmas, ou duas orações de idêntica função.   São elas as seguintes:
both ... and	tanto ... como
either ... or	ou ... ou, quer ... quer
neither ... nor	nem ... nem
not only ... but also	não só ... mas também
2   Exemplos:     (a) both + sujeito + and + sujeito Both John and Mary like swimming. Tanto o João como a Maria gostam de nadar.   (b) either + oração independente + or + oração independente Either you come with us or stay here all by yourself. Ou vens connosco ou ficas aqui sozinho.   (c) neither + verbo + nor + verbo They can neither read nor write Italian. Eles não sabem ler nem escrever italiano.   (d) not only + adjectivo + but also + adjectivo The house is not only spacious but also comfortable. A casa não é só espaçosa mas também confortável.
