1   Os adjectivos (adjectives) são empregues para caracterizar os seres, os objectos ou o estado das coisas.

 

  2   Os adjectivos em inglês são invariáveis, isto é, não fazem concordância com a palavra à qual estão associados:

    • The car looks expensive.

  • verbo (find, make) + complemento + adjectivo
     
    • I find the exercise easy.
    • I find the chair comfortable.
    • She makes me happy.
    • Don't make her angry.
       
       
  • advérbio + adjectivo
     
    • very hot
    • extremely difficult
    • nearly empty
    • quite good
       
       
  • comparativo (grau de adjectivo)
     
    • John is older.
    • Mary is younger than Emily.
    • This car is more expensive.
    • My car is more economical.
       
       
  • superlativo (grau de adjectivo)
     
    • He is the youngest in class.
    • This is the cheapest.
    • That car is the most economical of all.
    • She is the most intelligent of all the students.
